In recent years and due to the economical crisis, the consumers are starting to turn more and more to local products. Products of high differentiation and nutritional value.
One of them is the grocery peppers grown in the prefecture of Serres Greece
These peppers came together with the refugees from Asia Minor in 1922 who kept the seed and brought these peppers in the country. Their main feature is the relatively small size (not more than 8cm).
They are cultivated in relatively small areas in the village of Agios Ioannis a few kilometers from the city of Serres.
These peppers can be eaten roasted, fried, with oil or vinegar or as we wish.
Regarding its cultivation, there is no particular difference in relation to the classic pepper for the cultivation of which we will refer in a future article.
